Step 2: Configuring MortgageQuote with your HubSpot CRM

Once you have connected your MortgageQuote account to HubSpot CRM, you will need to configure the integration to ensure that contacts are captured correctly.

The configuration table

The configuration table on MortgageQuote allows you to map the fields from your Mortgage Quoting System to the properties in your HubSpot CRM. This will ensure that the data is captured correctly and in the correct properties. Each row in the table corresponds to a question asked by the quoting system.

There are four columns in the table:

  • MQ Variables - This column provides the variable in the quoting system in relation to the question asked.

  • HubSpot Internal Property Name - This column is where you enter the internal property name which corresponds to the MQ Variable.

  • Examples - This column provides examples of the data that will be captured by the quoting system.

  • Field Type - This column provides the field type the HubSpot property needs to be set to.

Creating properties in HubSpot CRM

In order to capture the data from your Mortgage Quoting System, you will need to create new properties in your HubSpot CRM. These properties will be used to store the data captured by the quoting system. You can create properties by following the steps below:

  1. In your HubSpot CRM, Click on the "Settings" cog icon in the top right corner of the page.

  2. In the settings, under "Data Management", find and click "Properties".

  3. (Optional) Select the "Groups" tab and then select the "Create group" button. Next, enter "MortgageQuote" as the group name and click "Save".

  4. On the "Properties" tab, find and click "Create property".

  5. Enter a property label.

  6. Select the Object type: Contact.

  7. (Optional) Select the MortgageQuote group.

  8. Select the field type that corresponds to the given field type on the MortgageQuote Configuration table.

  9. Copy the internal name, which can be found under the property label, into the corresponding configuration table row on MortgageQuote.

  10. Click the "Create Button".

Example: You may call the MQ Variable "Mortgage Type", "Type of Mortgage" as a property label. You would need to paste the internal name "type_of_mortgage" in the HubSpot Internal Property Name column in the configuration table that corresponds to the MQ Variables column. While making sure the field type of the property is set to "Single-line text" .

If you do not want a specific variable in your CRM, just leave the HubSpot Internal Property Name column empty for that row.

Adding properties to your HubSpot records

After you have created the properties, they need to then be displayed in the contact records. To add them to the record, follow these steps:

  1. In your HubSpot CRM, Click on the "Settings" cog icon in the top right corner of the page.

  2. In the settings, under "Data Management", find and click "Objects" and then "Contacts".

  3. Click on the record view you wish to add the new properties to.

  4. Once you're in the layout editor, click "Add cards" in the middle column and then "Create card".

  5. Find the card type "Property list (large)" and give it a card title and internal name.

  6. Add the properties that you wish to be shown on the card.

  7. After you have added all the properties you want, click the "Save" button.

Step 3: Test the configuration

After you have added all the properties for your contacts, head back to the MortgageQuote configuration table and click the "Test Configuration" button. This should insert a test contact to ensure everything is working as intended.

Step 4: Save the configuration

Once you've made sure the test has integrated into your HubSpot CRM, click the "Save Configuration" button.

Disconnecting the integration

If the authorisation fails, you will be redirected to a fail screen with an error code. If this occurs, please and we can help resolve the issues you're having.

This integration should now be configured. Please if further assistance is required.

If you wish to disconnect this integration, go back to the and click the "Disconnect" button.
